Now in its third year, the popular Hertfordshire Festival of Music (HFoM) is returning from 10th to 16th June. With a broad range of performances happening in Hertford, Watford and Hertford Heath, the event promises the bring us ‘the music of fantasy, fable and folklore’.
This summer, pianist Stephen Hough will be the festival’s Principal Artist and ‘Featured Living Composer’. Stephen will also be displaying his stunning paintings in Hertford Theatre throughout the festival.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will see a Piano Masterclass from Stephen and two speaking events, Stephen Hough in Conversation and Tasmin Little in Conversation. There will also be opportunities to hear The Prince Consort play in All Saint’s Church as well as The Galliard Ensemble and the Chris Eldred Trio at The Friend’s Meeting House, Hertford.
“HFoM celebrates this by bringing new visitors and friends to this beautiful part of England – especially the county town of Hertford – with performances by world-class musicians whom audiences might usually need to travel to London or other cities to hear.”
Performances and events are very reasonably priced and a few events are free (although tickets should be purchased in advance).
