From January 2019, those living with Dementia and their families and carers can enjoy a visit to the cinema at Hertford Theatre to see a Dementia-friendly film screening, once a month.
The monthly film afternoons will start at 1.30pm on 23rd January 2019, with the classic musical Singing in the Rain. Other titles throughout the year will include Oliver Twist, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Vertigo.
At Dementia-friendly screenings, there will be no adverts or trailers, and the lighting will be slightly raised throughout the film.
Theatre Director, Rhys Thomas said “We are delighted to be able to offer this facility at Hertford Theatre. These screenings are specifically designed for those living with Dementia and memory loss, and their friends, families and careers. However, we welcome everyone.”
The films will start at 1.30pm, with a complimentary tea or coffee and a biscuit available beforeand.
Tickets are £5 with free entry for a carer.
